Naomi Campbell Reveals Whether ‘Camilla’ Will Be Back for ‘Empire’ Season 2
Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been seen by millions who watched her play sexy cougar Camilla Marks on Lee Daniels' hit hip-hop drama “Empire.” She was joined “Extra's” Tracey Edmonds and dropped some hints on whether her fan-favorite character will be back for season two.
“I'll be wearing Burberry on the show, so you'll be seeing that,” revealed Campbell, who also chatted about being recognized at the airport as her alter-ego. “People call me Camilla in the airport, and I'm like, my name's not Camilla, it's Naomi, but that gets me to the front of the line.”
Campbell's character had lots of steamy love scenes with a much younger actor on the show, and she said it took some getting used to. “My first day, I was like, 'Do I really have to get on a pool table and start making out?' and I was very shy. Modeling is my job, I know, but it's different when you're doing action in front of people, and people are around you and you have to get down to it.”
The fashion icon, who just celebrated her 29th year in the business, admitted she's learned how to live in front of the cameras. “I think I live my life pretty well in the sense of if I don't want to be seen, I'm not seen, I find a way to have my privacy, so I go where I need to go to have my peace.”
Campbell is happy, but surprised to be the new face of Burberry's campaign. “I was so shocked, speechless, when Christopher chose me to be in his current campaign with Mario and Jordan, I was like 'oh my god,' but so honored, because being from London, home, it's an honor to get to work for Burberry.
Burberry announced that it is broadcasting its April 16 show on Periscope, the live-streaming app, from the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, where audiences will have an all-access pass to take them from the arrival at the iconic venue to their front-row seat to watch the entire show.
Tune in at 7:45PM PT for a fashion show filled with models, accompanied by live performances by musicians Clare Maguire, Tom Odell and Benjamin Clementine, with more surprises revealed at the event.
