Gregg Allman, who died at 69 on Saturday after struggling with various health issues, had not been in the tabloids since his volatile 1970s marriage to Cher. Nonetheless, it was his life's work, not his personal life, that made him an inspiration to countless other musicians, many of whom mourned him on social media when news of his death circulated.
