Watch Ryan Gosling’s Touching Golden Globes Speech About Eva Mendes
Tonight, Ryan Gosling took home the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for his work on “La La Land.”
During his acceptance speech, he thanked his love Eva Mendes in a heartfelt speech. He told the star-studded audience, "You don't get to be up here without standing on the shoulders of a mountain of people, and there's just no time to thank everyone. I'd just like to try and thank one person properly. While I was dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer.” Watch!
He went on, "If she hadn't taken all that on so I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So, sweetheart, thank you. To my daughters, Amada and Esmeralda, I love you. And if I may, I'd like to dedicate this to the memory of her brother, Juan Carlos Mendes.”
Eva's brother Juan Carlos passed away in April, the same month that Eva gave birth to her second daughter with Gosling, Amada.
