Angelina Jolie Meets the Queen, Receives Honorary Damehood
She's the mother of six, an Oscar winner, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations… and now Angelina Jolie is an Honorary Dame!
Jolie met with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on Friday where she received the Honorary Dame Grand Cross, equivalent to a knighthood. Jolie will not hold the title of Dame, but DCMG (Dame Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George) can be written beside her name.
The high honor is in recognition of her campaign against rape in war zones, and for services to the UK foreign policy.
Angelina's husband Brad Pitt and their six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 6, were there to support the star.
A source told Us Weekly, "The kids were very excited to be at Buckingham Palace. Everyone dressed up really smart."
