Sinéad O’Connor’s Heartbreaking Video as She Pleads for Help
"Nothing Compares 2 U” singer Sinéad O'Connor released a tearful video while living in a motel in New Jersey.
She shared in a Facebook video, "I'm all by myself. And there's absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist, the sweetest man on earth, who says I'm his hero, and that's about the only thing keeping me alive at the moment… and that's kind of pathetic.”
O'Connor opened up about her struggles with mental illness, saying, "I want everyone to know what it's like, that's why I'm making this video. Mental illness, it's like drugs, it doesn't give a sh*t who you are, and equally what's worse, it's the stigma, it doesn't give a sh*t who you are. And suddenly all the people that are supposed to be loving you and taking care of you are treating you like sh*t.''
Sinéad also put some blame on her kids and exes. She said, “Children of mine, why is it acceptable that your mom is living in a f**kin Travelodge? That should not be acceptable… you don't even care. Am I not worth fighting for? Everything I gave you.”
Despite her struggles, including dealing with kidney stones, she emphasized, “I want to stay alive, I've got children… it's for them that I'm not going to die.”
Last year, Sinéad reportedly went missing. At the time, she was considered to be a suicide risk.
