Jimmy Kimmel Gives Health Update on Infant Son
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel returned to work on Monday and gave fans an update on his infant son Billy.
Billy was born with two heart defects and had to undergo open-heart surgery, but he is on the mend now.
Jimmy told the audience, “Our son Billy is doing very well. He's eating, he is getting bigger, he is sleeping well,” he then joked, “He can read now, which I've heard is unusual.”
When Kimmel originally opened up about his son last week, he took the opportunity to get political about healthcare, saying, "If your baby is going to die and it doesn't have to, it shouldn't matter how much money you make. I think that's something that whether you're a Republican or a Democrat or something else — we all agree on that, right?"
Kimmel took some heat over the comments, and mock apologized on Monday's episode, saying, “I'd like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care. That was insensitive – it was offensive – and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”
