Just days after the sad news, Ariane hit the stage for a concert. His ex-wife Ottavia Busia posted a pic and wrote on Instagram, “Our little girl had her concert today. She was amazing. So strong and brave. She wore the boots you bought her. I hope you are having a good trip, wherever you are.”

Months before his death, Bourdain opened up about how he felt “some responsibility” to live for Ariane, 11. He explained, “I also do feel I have things to live for. There have been times, honestly, in my life that I figured, 'I've had a good run — why not just do this stupid thing, this selfish thing… jump off a cliff into water of indeterminate depth.”
Before welcoming his daughter, he noted that he was “frankly, asking for trouble.”
Anthony Bourdain's Mom Confirms His 'Dark Mood' Before Death
View StoryAfter his passing, his mother Gladys Bourdain revealed that he had been “in a dark mood those couple of days” before he took his life.
At the time of his suicide, Bourdain was shooting “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” in France with his best friend Éric Ripert. They were supposed to eat dinner at Le Chambard hotel's Winstub restaurant, but he never showed up. Waiter Maxime Voinson told New York Times, “Mr. Ripert thought it was strange. We thought it was strange. Mr. Bourdain knew the chef, Monsieur Nasti; he knew the kitchen. Maybe he went out and ate somewhere else, we said, but we didn't think much of it."
When Bourdain also missed breakfast, hotel staff were sent to Bourdain's room, where he was found hanging in the bathroom.
