Halloween Scare! Wendy Williams Passes Out on Live TV — What Happened?
On Tuesday, TV personality Wendy Williams fainted during a live episode of “The Wendy Williams Show.”
Williams, who was dressed as Lady Liberty, was discussing her Halloween contest when she passed out. All of a sudden, she was unable to finish her sentence and her eyes started widening. After the commercial break, Williams was back on her feet and explained what happened. She said, “That was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But do you know what? I'm a champ and I'm back!”
At the end of the show, Wendy poked fun at the situation, telling the audience, "Is that the end of the show? Was I passed out that long?!”
There were ambulances and fire trucks outside the studio. "Extra" caught up with show guest Jerry O'Connell outside, where he described the incident as "super scary."
In a video obtained by "Extra," photogs caught Wendy as she was leaving the studio in a black SUV. As she rolled down the window, she told cameras, "I'm okay. I'm going home. Thank you!" Watch!
Following the episode, the show released a statement to “Extra,” saying, "Wendy fainted on-air this morning. She is dehydrated and is on her way home to rest and sleep. She has been examined by medical professionals and finished the show in true Wendy spirit. She has never missed a day of work, and will continue all shows as planned. She will address this on-air tomorrow."
