Networks Send Anchors to Cover Paris, 'SNL' Stands with the City of Light
According to Variety, all the major networks have made the decision to have their top anchors cover the terrorist attacks in Paris from within the City of Light.
NBC's Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie are already in Paris; FOX is sending Bill Hemmer and Geraldo Rivera; CNN's Anderson Cooper will host from Paris with Christiane Amanpour and other members of the news network's team; and ABC's David Muir is also expected to report from Paris.
It isn't only hard-news sources reacting to the events in Paris — "Saturday Night Live" did without its traditional cold open, instead beginning with a heartfelt message from Cecily Strong. Strong appeared in black, saying first in English and then in perfect French: "Paris is the City of Light, and here in New York City, we know that light will never go out. Our love and support is with everyone there tonight — we stand with you."
We stand with you, Paris. https://t.co/hqUX4oqWMj
