Savannah Chrisley’s Dad Gives Blushworthy Reason Why Her BF Isn’t Perfect
“Extra's” Charissa Thompson spoke with Savannah Chrisley and her dad Todd at Universal Studios Hollywood, where they opened up about Savannah's new boyfriend Luke Kennard.
Last month, Kennard was drafted by the NBA and Savannah was there to celebrate with him. She wrote on Instagram, "Yep y'all...he's my guy 😍 could not be more proud of him!! Thank you for choosing me @lukekennard5 ❤️ #nbabound🏀 #dukenation #myboyfriendishot.”

Does her dad approve of Luke? Todd said, “I say that every parent prays for someone for their child and Luke could not be any more than what Julie and I prayed for for Savannah. He is a good honorable decent young man who has very good morals.”
Savannah chimed in, "He's basically a perfect human being."
Todd jokingly added, “He's not perfect — he has a penis, so he's not perfect.”
As for how she makes her relationship work with Luke, who will be traveling all over the country during the NBA season, Savannah said, “It's actually been easy so far, we make time to see each other. We realize that if we have to go a month without seeing each other, that's normal so it just is what it is. You just have to make each other a priority and be there to support each other, so I was at the draft with him. He wants to come to the launch of my clothing line, it's just making those sacrifices and being there.”
Savannah is in a much better place since her scary accident in January. She pointed out, “At the end of the day, life's short, so you don't need to dwell on things. My thing was, tomorrow's not promised, therefore you just have to go with your gut instinct, you need to follow through with what you say you're gonna follow through with. You don't need to leave things unsaid…”
Todd jumped in, saying, “And you need to pay attention when you're driving… and slow down!”
The family is showing no signs of slowing down on their show, “Chrisley Knows Best,” which returns this fall. As for what to expect, Todd teased, “I think you'll see the kids really evolve and you'll see Julie and I evolving in a different role of parenting young adults… We enjoy having our home to ourselves. You'll see the kids evolving a lot, you'll see the kids, some of them date, which is not unusual."
The father-daughter duo were on hand to promote her new fashion line Faith Over Fear. She shared, “We've been working on it for two years. Giuliana Rancic has been a huge help — she's been my mentor throughout it all.”
Savannah dished on her line, which is available on HSN, “I went for comfort but for it to be very stylish and cute… Everything is under $100, so it's affordable."
Todd gushed over his daughter, saying, “I think that as a father you want to raise your daughters to be very self-sufficient and know who they are and where they come from, and we feel like every day Savannah grows and she evolves. We see more of that, and she's certainly made a very good choice in who she's dating right now and she's done a wonderful job with her clothing line.”
