Mary Kay Letourneau & Vili Fualaau Are Back Together
A year after their separation, Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau have reconciled.
Mary Kay is the former sixth-grade teacher from the Seattle area who was arrested in 1997 for having a sexual relationship with her 13-year-old student, Vili. She was 34 at the time, with a husband and four children.
A source told People magazine, “They're back together. They've worked through a lot of issues in the past year. They just needed to take a step back and realize what they mean to each other. Of course there are still issues, like all marriages, but they're very much together.”
Earlier this year, some of the couple's friends opened up on the status of their relationship during an A&E special, saying, “[Mary Kay]'s living in hope. Mary wants this relationship to work. Vili's in his mid-30s, and Mary's in her mid-50s, and you just have to relate it to anyone else you know and their relationship issues.”
