Bon Jovi’s David Bryan Opens Up About His ‘Slow Recovery’ from Coronavirus
“Extra's” Billy Bush spoke with Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan, after the keyboardist revealed over the weekend that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking via FaceTime from his home in New Jersey, David opened up about his symptoms. “About 10 days ago… I started to get the chills, the flu-like symptoms, headaches, and body aches and I got right into bed… Wednesday, it started to get into my lungs and my wife was like, 'Okay, we have to get tested.'” He said he was also coughing and it was “getting worse."
His doctor tested him and his wife, but while he tested positive, his wife tested negative.
Now, David is on medication, including hydroxychloroquine. It should be noted that clinical trials are underway to determine the effectiveness of the drug in treating COVID-19.

David told Billy, “I started that combination of azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine… Today is my fifth day. It is definitely making me feel better. Still have night sweats and I am weak.”
He is sharing his story to help others. “I just want to calm the fear, because you really look at it… my wife has no symptoms. I have symptoms, I mean, I'm sick. And then there's people who are older, [people with] underlying conditions who are in the hospital. So there is definitely a big range to this virus.”
Bryan went on, “I'm not just putting a face on it, I have it. I'm 58 years old, so I'm not young but I am not old. I was in New York for the last couple months working on my musical 'Diana.' New York is definitely the hot spot, just shows that you can get it. It's a nasty virus. If you are healthy you can survive.”
Right now he is focused on getting better, “You know, mainly I'm in bed a lot." For him, it's "like just a bad flu… it's a slow recovery.”
