Gwen Stefani on Gavin Rossdale Divorce: 'I Wish It Didn't Happen'
During an appearance on the Washington D.C. radio show "The Tommy Show" on Wednesday, rock star Gwen Stefani opened up about her divorce from Gavin Rossdale.
When she was asked about the divorce, Stefani responded, "I wish it didn't happen – I wish that all this wasn't happening. But at the same time, I feel like it was part of my life journey. In my life, I've had two really bad heartbreaks, and I've written some really incredible music out of it. I feel so lucky to have that, and to be able to share it." Listen!
Gwen also revealed that she still reflects on her past with Rossdale through their 13 years of marriage. She explained, "Because of my situation right now, which we all know what I'm talking about, I feel like I go back and listen to a lot of that stuff and I'm, like, I get sick. You look at the songs and go, 'That was a red flag. That was a moment where I was feeling just as bad as I feel today, and why did I keep it up?"
"There's always good things that come out of bad things," Stefani added. After her divorce, she started dating Blake Shelton, who she met on "The Voice."
A source close to Stefani recently told Us Weekly about the romance, "After everything Gavin has done, [Gwen] hopes he sees what he's missing. She's moved on with somebody better who is really good to her. Her being happy is the best revenge. And she deserves it."
