Carrie Fisher's Assets Revealed — Charity Auction Set
Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd has been named the beneficiary of her mother's estate.
People magazine reports the "Star Wars" icon's assets have been revealed in new court documents, and that they include a 2016 Tesla S, bank accounts, several businesses, a life insurance policy, and all of Fisher's legendarily quirky personal effects.
Fisher's largest asset was her sprawling Coldwater Canyon estate, which includes two dwellings. Fisher lived on the storied property with her mother Debbie Reynolds. It was built in 1919 by "King Kong" actor Robert Armstrong and was inhabited by both costume designer Edith Head and Hollywood legend Bette Davis over the years before Fisher purchased it.
The home is already on the market with an asking price of $18 million.
In September, Profiles in History will auction a slew of Fisher's belongings, including a life-sized Princess Leia statue that was seen in the documentary "Brights Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds." A portion of the proceeds will benefit Debbie Reynolds' charity the Thalians and also a charity of Lourd's choosing, JED.
Lourd, 24, also inherits the rights to her mom's public image and intellectual property, which due to her affiliation with the "Star Wars" franchise are worth many millions of dollars.
One hiccup in the proceedings — not all of Fisher's assets had been transferred into her living trust at the time she died, so her lawyers are arguing that it was her intent to transfer everything into the trust in order to avoid anything going through probate court.
Fisher died December 27, 2016, after losing consciousness on a flight from London to L.A. An autopsy revealed the presence of various illegal substances in her body, but her cause of death was determined to be due to a variety of factors, sleep apnea among them.
