Close Friend Chaka Khan Says She’s Not Shocked to Hear News of Bobbi Kristina
Singer Chaka Khan revealed she was hurt, but not surprised to learn the news that close friend Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina was in a coma.
The 62-year-old sat down with The Mirror UK and expressed the pain of having to relive Whitney Houston's death after Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub, the same way her mother died at the age of 48.
"I can't say I was shocked. But I was definitely hurt, disappointed,” Khan revealed.” Everyone's devastated, everyone. I love Bobbi Kristina, I love Whitney, I love Bobby Brown. I love Cissy — I love them all."
The “I'm Every Woman” singer has known 22-year-old Bobbi since she was born, and for decades has been close friends with both the Houston family and Bobby Brown.

Khan attended Whitney's funeral in 2012 and knows a mother's pain, saying, “Whitney would be devastated. I wish she was here…. I think I'm pretty close to feeling what she would have felt and what she's feeling right now, wherever she is.”
"I've been in conversation with the family," Khan told the paper. "But we just have to wait for what happens next. All I want to do is be there for them. I just need to pray."
It's been months since Bobbi Kristina has been in a coma, with her grandmother recently telling a radio station that Bobbi was moved to a rehabilitation facility, adding, “And you know, still not a great deal of hope.”
