Katie Couric Breaks Her Silence on Matt Lauer’s Firing

Former “Today” host Katie Couric has broken her silence following Matt Lauer's firing.
The two worked together from 1991 to 2006, and Lauer was let go following sexual harassment allegations.
Couric addressed the firing on Instagram, calling it “upsetting.”
Katie had posed a throwback photo of her and her daughter with the caption, “Miss these days. Carrie, phone home. (Or at least text me…). She added, “#Cantsleep #insomniac #missmygirls #missmolner.”
When a follower asked her about Lauer's termination, she wrote, “It's incredibly upsetting and I will say something when I'm ready to. Thanks for your interest.”'
After the firing, Lauer shared a statement with “Today," in which he apologized for the pain and shame his actions caused others, saying, "There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this, I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC.”
