Kesha Opens Up About Being ‘Hug Denied’ by Jerry Seinfeld
Remember that time Jerry Seinfeld denied Kesha a hug? She does.
The singer opened up to SiriusXM's Hits 1 in Hollywood (listen here) about the awkward, gone-viral moment when she crashed Jerry's red carpet interview at the National Night of Laughter and Song in Washington, D.C. to ask for a hug, but he said no.
Kesha joked, “I felt like I was 5 years old. I instantly was like, 'Oh f— me.' And I, like, somehow ended up in my very own mini-episode of 'Seinfeld' for like five seconds.”
She continued, “I've seen every episode a thousand times. I used to carry the whole season package with me everywhere on my carry-on. Like DVDs… that's why I wanted a hug so hard. He's not a huggy guy, that's fine.”
Her message to Jerry now? “I should have known better,” she said with a laugh. "I've seen the hugging episode."

Everything worked out for Kesha, who later got a hug from her idol, Bob Dylan.
She admitted she was a little apprehensive after being “hug denied,” but with Dylan it worked out. “So I walked up and I just stood there and smiled, and he just opened his beautiful arms and gave me the most wonderful, healing, Bob Dylan hug that I have ever dreamt of, and I just could care less about anything else.”
She even got a second hug afterward, “I got two Bob Dylan hugs!”
Jerry opened up to “Extra” about what happened, saying, “I'm 63. I don't know every pop star, I don't know everyone.”
He added, “When you get to be my age and you've done a couple things, you have your own reality. In my reality, I don't hug a total stranger. I have to meet someone, say hello. I have to start somewhere.”
