Kim Richards' Dr. Phil Interview: The 'RHOBH' Star's Biggest Revelation
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” drama continued on Tuesday as Kim Richards sat down with Dr. Phil.
The reality star didn't hold back, opening up about her ongoing battle with alcoholism.
Perhaps the biggest revelation was that – as her co-stars had suspected – Richards had been drinking in the months leading up to the cast reunion show and her April arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
"I did have drinks a couple other times over the past few months,” she said. “It was wine. I was ashamed to say anything at the reunion, embarrassed. I would have loved to say to the girls, 'You know what, you're right,' but the way they were coming at me, they didn't make it easy."
She also stood by her claim that she didn't drink on the show. "I have not drank once this season on camera. Not one time," she said. "At that point, I was not lying. I had not drank in over three years. Every one of them had come to me and told me Lisa Rinna was talking behind my back. That is none of her business."
Kim said what is hurting her the most is her relationship with family, after her dog reportedly attacked her sister Kyle's daughter. "It isn't the blog or the season that upset me. It was the relationship between my sister and my niece that's been destroyed," she said, crying. "But the bottom line is, it's the overall outcome of where today is with my relationships with the people I love the most, and that's what really started getting me upset."
Richards, 50, also touched on her arrest for public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on an officer.
She admitted to drinking a glass of vodka at daughter Brooke's house before heading to the Beverly Hills Hotel. She explained, "I was scared, and I was intoxicated, so everything's magnified. I poured one drink, but maybe it was bigger than I thought."
When asked about allegations that she kicked an officer, she said, "Maybe I did kick him. I don't know.”
Not long after the interview, Richards checked into rehab.
