Cardi B & Rita Ora Apologize for Hosting Parties During COVID-19 Pandemic

Over the holiday weekend, Cardi B and Rita Ora faced major backlash after hosting parties amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ora reportedly paid a £10,000 COVID-19 fine after hosting a 30th birthday party at Casa Cruz in London, which is currently under lockdown restrictions.
On Monday, Rita apologized for the party in an Instagram Story video. She said, “I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and this would be OK...I'm deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk. This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgment. Given the restrictions, I realize how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.”
Cardi didn’t celebrate a birthday, but she hosted a “lit” Thanksgiving gathering, which had “12 kids and 24 adults.” In one video, Cardi and attendees were dancing maskless.
After being criticized for the party, she tweeted, “Sorry my bad wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad. I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me. I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it. I wasnt trying to offend no1.”
Cardi noted that she took safety precautions, saying, “everyone that works around me get tested literally 4 times a week.”
The pandemic has been rampant since March. There have been 63 million cases worldwide with over 1.4 million deaths.
After spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Florida, “Extra’s” Billy Bush virtually caught up with Dr. Armand Dorian, who shared his take on holiday traveling.
While being packed in a plane can be “high risk,” he said, “If everyone is masked, if everyone is respecting the protocols, I think air travel is safe.”
