Kirk Douglas Turns 100 with Glitzy Luncheon and Sweet Insta Vid from Catherine Zeta-Jones
On Friday, Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas did something few other A-list stars have ever done before — he turned 100 years old!
The Oscar winner marked the occasion surrounded by friends and family, including his wife Anne (married 62 years), son Michael Douglas, daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta-Jones, and grandkids Dylan Michael and Carys Zeta.
People magazine reports the party's 135 guests celebrated at the Beverly Hills Hotel at 2:30 p.m. Friday, and were seated at tables bearing the names of some of Kirk's favorite movies.
During the speeches, Michael thanked his dad for his film career (he produced "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" after Kirk couldn't seal the deal, winding up with an Oscar) and said, in response to Kirk's constant worries over whether he was a good dad, "Dad, you are an amazing, amazing father.”
Zeta-Jones lit the candles on Kirk's chocolate cake (complete with his likeness on top) and led the singing of "Happy Birthday." She also posted an adorable Instagram video in honor of Kirk's incredible life.
Some of the famous folks in attendance were Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, Kirk's "Tough Guys" director Jeff Kanew, and insult comic Don Rickles.
