'Beautiful Souls' Jesse McCartney & Katie Peterson Engaged

Singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney and his longtime love Katie Peterson are engaged, Us Weekly reports.
Jesse popped the question at Cut by Wolgang Puck at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Friday while eating out with Katie and a group of friends. Right in the middle of the meal — which included sliders, ribeye steaks, peach pie, and more — Jesse got down on one knee and asked for Katie's hand in marriage.

The lovebirds, both 32, have been a steady item since 2012.

Jesse, who was previously linked with Hayden Panettiere, Danielle Panabaker and Katie Cassidy, came to prominence as an actor on "All My Children" and "Summerland," as a member of the platinum-selling boy band Dream Street, and as a solo singer of such hits as "Beautiful Soul" (#16 in 2004), "Leavin" (#10 in 2008), and last year's "Better with You," a song thought to be about his future wife.
