Ryan Seacrest Explains His 'American Idol' Tears and Sign-Off
"American Idol" fans were left scratching their heads when misty-eyed host Ryan Seacrest ended the finale by saying, "One more time — this is so tough — we say to you, from Hollywood, goodnight, America. For now."
Now, Us Weekly reports Ryan is shedding some light on his cryptic quote.
Although original producer Nigel Lythgoe has alluded to future incarnations of "Idol," Ryan has tweeted that his "for now" was just a case of dreading closure: "I didn't want to say goodbye last night. Thank you for 15 amazing seasons #IdolFinale".We will just have to wait and see if the powers that be decide about what, if anything comes next!
