Beyoncé Responds to Murder of Dallas Officers with Touching Instagram Post
Beyoncé, who asked for a moment of silence at her Glasgow show this week in honor of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile — two black men killed by police in incidents widely decried as abuses of power — has also spoken out about the senseless murder of five policemen in Dallas on Friday.
As reported by Variety, the singer posted a stark short film featuring the names of the slain officers against an inky backdrop between extreme closeups of a black-and-white, waving Texas flag.

Beyoncé captioned the post, "Rest in peace to the officers whose lives were senselessly taken yesterday in Dallas. I am praying for a full recovery of the seven others injured. No violence will create peace. Every human life is valuable. We must be the solution. Every human being has the right to gather in peaceful protest without suffering more unnecessary violence. To effect change we must show love in the face of hate and peace in the face of violence."
On Saturday, People magazine reports Bey spent the day in London with hubby Jay Z watching their pal Serena Williams defeat Angelique Kerber at Wimbledon. Serena is now only the second woman in history to have won 22 grand slams.
