Why Bachelor Zach Shallcross & Kaity Biggar Aren't Rushing Into Marriage (Exclusive)
Fresh off “The Bachelor” finale, “Extra’s” Billy Bush caught up with Zach Shallcross and his fiancée Kaity Biggar, who are in “no rush” to walk down the aisle!
Zach explained, “With everything going on so fast, you know, the whole show is like two and a half months and we finally have this time to actually be together, be in public… We’ve been rushing everything up to this point. If something changes, we’ll move it up. We just thought it would be a smart time, for now.”
They might not be getting married anytime soon, but they are planning to move in together in Texas.
Zach shared, “I’ve actually been living in Austin for close to four years. Because of the show, I moved back to California. A week from today, I’m driving all my stuff out there and we’re moving in together this summer.”
As for when he knew Kaity was the one, Shallcross said, “When I was finally out of my head and looked at her like she was my wife, it was at the last-chance date. The moment I put my eyes on her and I was like, ‘Yeah, what am I doing?’ It’s you.”
Zach would “absolutely” do the show again, adding, “To have her? 1000%.”
The couple’s secret to their relationship seems to be “amazing communication.” Zach noted, “Obviously, at times, there’s a tough conversation, especially with a TV show being broadcast to millions, we work through everything. It’s the communication, we’ve always had and we’ve gotten stronger through each thing.”
The pair also opened up about the Fantasy Suites drama — which came about after Zach confessed to getting intimate with Gabi — and how they worked through it.
Zach admitted, “Looking back at that entire week, me setting those parameters was the worst thing I could’ve done.”
“My intention was to have it not be so difficult and complicated, where in reality, I made triple, quadruple complicated… That’s something we’ve talked about and worked through,” Shallcross said.
When asked how she forgave Zach, Kaity commented, “I was very blindsided and taken aback in that moment… it was definitely a very painful moment. I think I really needed to take a step back and just go back to the hotel room and process everything I was feeling.”
She went on, “Looking back, I knew Zach’s heart. I knew he was just trying to be a good guy and being honest, and how do you build a relationship off dishonestly? I knew where he was coming from and he was just trying to be open.”
Zach stressed, “I always wanted to be honest and especially, you know, forming a real relationship and getting down on one knee, the last thing I ever wanted was to hold anything back or be dishonest.”
