Chris Harrison Says What Went Down on ‘The Bachelorette’ Was ‘Just Bizarre’
We have all seen the promos, but the question is what really goes down on this season of “The Bachelorette?” “Extra's” Rachel Lindsay was with her friend Chris Harrison Tuesday to find out more.
Reports say Clare Crawley fell in love with former NFL player Dale Moss just 12 days into shooting the series, that she left, and that Tayshia Adams took her place.
Chris, known for his witty and dramatic lines when it comes to hosting the franchise, is heard in the promos telling Clare, “Congratulations, you've just blown up the 'Bachelorette.'” He told Rachel, “Those lines… you can't plan for 'em… so it's just something that came in the moment. That's how I felt.”
He wouldn't say how she actually “blew up 'The Bachelorette,'” teasing, “That, you'll have to watch and see.”
Being a former Bachelorette herself, Rachel did try to get "Extra" the scoop, saying to Chris, “Oh, come on... you can't throw a bone to an old friend, come on.”
Chris replied, “I will say this: I know people say, 'Oh, we kind of know everything…' We know how this is going to go… You don't… It is just bizarre.”
Harrison revealed, “This is how crazy it is — I am excited to go back and watch 'cause I'm not even sure how it's all going to seemingly play out.”
The drama didn't end with Clare! For the first time in the history of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” someone else stepped in to host some of the show for Chris after he left. “I won't tell you who took over for me… It's probably not the biggest secret in the world but yes, my son Joshua, he left for college and that was a moment I was not going to miss as a dad… so I scheduled it into the production I was going to leave for a few days.”
Chris teased, “Somebody was nice enough to come in and help out… A lot of people came in and helped out this season... You might see a familiar 'Extra' face.”
Rachel laughed, saying, “Why didn't y'all ask me to come and host…? It wasn't me… I can definitely say…”
Chris hinted, “I vaguely remember floating in a pool with someone who looked a lot like you.” Rachel played coy, responding, “I have no idea what you're talking about.”
Harrison also had some kind words for former Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe who is currently on “Dancing with the Stars.” He said, “Our girl is killing it… The excitement and smile on her face realizing her dream coming true... I could not be happier for her… The 'Bachelor' family about to get another Mirror Ball — that's my feeling, that's my prediction.”
“The Bachelorette” premieres October 13 on ABC.
