Kelly Clarkson to Fill In for Simon Cowell on ‘America’s Got Talent’
Kelly Clarkson is stepping in for Simon Cowell on “America's Got Talent” this week.
The news comes after Simon Cowell broke his back this weekend in an electric bike accident and had to undergo surgery.
Clarkson announced the news on Twitter with a fake “urgent memo,” that stated, “My friend, Simon Cowell, is doing better now but was in an accident and won't be able to make Tuesday and Wednesday's live shows for AGT, but no worries America, someone far wiser, cooler, and hotter is taking his seat!”
She added, “The unbelievably amazing Kelly Clarkson 😜 You're welcome in advance!”

Kelly and Simon go way back. As fans know, she won the first season of “American Idol” in 2002 and Cowell was a judge.
Clarkson, who has spent multiple seasons as a judge on “The Voice,” will join Sofía Vergara, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum for “AGT” this week.
Just days before Simon's accident, “Extra's” Terri Seymour spoke with the judges and host Terry Crews about the live shows. Watch!
Terri has also been keeping up to date on Simon's recovery, and shared the news with Senior Executive Producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey.
She revealed Simon is doing well and was in good spirits Monday, and that his partner Lauren Silverman told her, “He's on his iPad, making phone calls, working. He actually just took a few steps.”
