Katie Couric Talks Hosting ‘Parent Trap’ Reunion
Katie Couric is keeping busy in quarantine, even hosting a “Parent Trap” reunion on Instagram!
Couric reunited Dennis Quaid, Lindsay Lohan, and other castmates from the 1998 remake as a fundraiser for World Central Kitchen.
Katie told “Extra's” Billy Bush it started with the film's director, Nancy Meyers.
“I've always been a huge fan of Nancy Meyers,” Katie said, explaining they did an IG Live together… and Lindsay tuned in.
“Nancy and I were talking, and Lindsay Lohan popped up,” she said. “I had been in touch with Lindsay through the years a little bit and after the IG live we said wouldn't it be fun to get everyone together from 'The Parent Trap?' It's such a seminal movie… and Nancy said, 'Let's do it as a fundraiser,' so we decided to do it as a fundraiser for the World Central Kitchen… and we put together a really, really fun reunion video.”
The video is out now, and Couric said, “We decided the anniversary of when the movie came out would be a good peg.”
She added, “It will be a light, great, fun moment of levity. Of course, they talk about Natasha [Richardson], who passed away as you know… It's such a charming, fun movie that it's fun to bring it back and let people enjoy a little piece of it again.”
