Rhett Akins Welcomes Baby #3 — Just Weeks After Son Thomas Rhett Became a Dad Again

Country singer Rhett Akins, 50, is a dad for the third time!

Rhett and his wife Sonya welcomed their first child together, a baby boy earlier this month.

Sonya shared a photo of their bundle of joy, writing on Instagram, “Friday the 13th is a pretty magical day. Our little angel arrived at 7:49 p.m. weighing 7.2lbs and 19 inches. He is perfect in every way!!!! Welcome Brody James Akins. 💙💙🙏🏼😍❤️.”

In another post, Sonya shared, “My heart is about to explode!! I'm so in love with our sweet baby boy!! Thank you lord for this precious gift that you have given our family!! 💙💙💙.”

In February, Rhett and Sonya celebrated their son's anticipated arrival at a baby shower, which was attended by his famous son Thomas Rhett. Along with posting a series of photo booth pics, Sonya wrote on Instagram, “We had so much fun at our Nashville Baby shower. Thanks so much to our family and friends for showing so much love to our sweet baby boy that will arrive soon!! 💙💙💙.”

That same month, Thomas welcomed his third child with wife Lauren. Along with adorable pics of his newborn daughter, the 29-year-old shared on Instagram, “Lennon Love Akins was born at 8:30 AM on February 10th! It was such a joy to watch this little angel be brought into the world. My wife is just incredible through the entire birth🙌🏼watching our kids meet Lennon for the first time was probably the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my whole life! Ada James and Willa Gray are going to be the best big sisters on the planet. The Lord is so good and I'm so grateful for my beautiful growing family!! Y'all pray for us as we switch from man on man defense to zone👍.”

Sonya announced she was expecting in September. At the time, she wrote on Instagram, “We are so excited to share that we will be adding a sweet bundle of joy to our lives next year!! We cannot wait to meet baby Akins!!! 👶🏻💙💙💙💙💙🙌🏼.”
