Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just publicly reunited with the royal family for the first time since announcing their exit… and it looked a bit awkward!
The couple attended the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey with Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles and, of course, the Queen.
Insiders tell Us Weekly that William and Kate arrived at the church first and quickly greeted Harry and Meghan, who sat behind them, next to Prince Edward and his wife Sophie. The meeting marked the brothers’ first public engagement together since November.
Unlike in years past, only Charles and Camilla escorted the Queen inside, and Meghan reportedly curtseyed as she greeted the monarch.
Photos from inside the church showed William and Kate turning around to talk to Edward and Sophie, as Harry and Meghan looked on.
As the family departed the church, Harry, William and Kate looked incredibly somber, with only Meghan showing a hint of a smile.
In contrast, the couples looked incredibly happy to greet friends and strangers. Like this photo of Harry and Meghan greeting children outside the church.
Here is another of William and Kate after the event.
