J.Lo and Shakira promised the world a good time leading up to their 12-minute, co-headlining performance at the Pepsi Halftime Show at Super Bow LIV... and they delivered!

They had a little help, too, with a surprise appearance by J.Lo's daughter Emme Maribel, 11, who sang some of Mom's "Let's Get Loud" along with a group of other young singers.

When Emme came out, an overhead shot of the field revealed a giant cross lit up in purple and yellow, their subtle tribute to Lakers icon Kobe Bryant.

Shakira, who turned 43 today, opened the show in a barely-there, red, sparkly number that showed off her legs as she purred through "She Wolf," "Empire," "Whenever, Wherever," and a Bad Bunny-powered cover of Cardi B's "I Like It."

Topping herself with each new portion of her set, she then crowd-surfed while singing "Hips Don't Lie."

A sparkling performance

This paved the way for J.Lo, 50, to emerge for a choreography-heavy hits package (filled with wow-inducing looks) that included "Jenny from the Block," "Ain't It Funny," "Get Right," "Waiting for Tonight," "Love Don't Cost a Thing," "Mi Gente" with J Balvin, "On the Floor," and "Let's Get Loud"/"Born in the U.S.A."/"Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)."

J.Lo even showed off some of her "Hustlers" moves on a stripper pole, though stopped well short of going from "hot" to "hold on now!"

The women reunited in the end on a reprise of "Let's Get Loud" to underscore the history-making fact that two Latinas had been chosen to entertain at halftime, a theme also highlighted when J.Lo flaunted a fluffy Puerto Rican flag coat.

They ended with a sweet hug and — what else? — fireworks galore!

All in all, it was a glittering performance that seemed to be a crowd-pleaser.

One satisfied fan was former halftime-show-off Lady Gaga. On Saturday, she had playfully warned the women, "I better hear no lip-syncing!"

After seeing their set, she tweeted: "J.Lo and Shakira and all the special guests were so incredible!!! What a fun halftime show I danced and smiled the whole time. Such powerful sexy women!!!! On camera and off!!!!! Love you beautiful sexy talented women."

J.Lo's fiancé A-Rod seemed to like what he saw, too:
