Rapper Juice Wrld Dead at 21
TMZ reports that 21-year-old rapper and singer Juice Wrld is dead.
The artist died after suffering a seizure at Chicago's Midway Airport after deplaning. Reports suggest that he was walking through the facility when he was stricken, and that he bled from the mouth.
According to TMZ, several members on his team told law enforcement that he had popped "several unknown pills" on the private jet before suffering seizures.
Along with codeine cough syrup being found on the plane, law enforcement confiscated weed from several suitcases on board.
The site obtained a photo of the 70 pounds of marijuana.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Juice "began convulsing (and) going into a seizure" when the police and federal agents were searching through the luggage.
According to the outlet, Juice's girlfriend told law enforcement that he “takes Percocet and has a drug problem” when asked if he had any medical issues.
After two doses of Narcan were administered, Juice woke up, but he was incoherent.
Juice aka Jarad Anthony Higgins was conscious while being rushed to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. No cause has been given.
Just since last year, Juice had a dozen singles that charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, including "Lucid Dreams" (#2 in 2018), "Fine China" (duet with Future, #26 in 2018), and "Robbery" (#27 in 2019). "Bandit," his single with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, hit #10 just weeks before his untimely death.
Juice's two-track EP "Too Soon" was a tribute to Lil Peep and XXXTentacion, both of whom also died young.
He seemingly predicted his own death in his song "Legends." He raps, "What's the 27 club? We ain't making it past 21. I been going through paranoia. So I always gotta keep a gun. Damn, that's the world we live in now. Yeah, hold on, just hear me out."
After the news broke, big names like Chance the Rapper, Drake, and Halsey mourned Juice's death.
Chance wrote on Instagram, "He knows our hearts. I really wish we had more talks like that one night in LA. Dude. This is ridiculous. Millions of people, not just in Chicago but around the world are hurting because of this and don't know what to make of it. Im sorry. Love you and God bless your soul. #legend."
Halsey added, "Sweet boy. The fastest brain in the game. Your creativity, endless. Immortal. Rest in power. I can't even explain the sadness."
Drake posted a pic of Juice on Instagram, writing, "I would like to see all the younger talent live longer and I hate waking up hearing another story filled with blessings was cut short 😢."

I can't believe it... you were such a sweet soul. I'll always remember meeting you and your family on the video set and thinking how close you were. You had so much further to go, you were just getting started. You'll be missed Juice 💔
