Eva Longoria & Ricky Martin Talk Holiday Plans, Plus: How They Met As Teens

Eva Longoria and Ricky Martin are putting their close friendship to good use. Only “Extra" was with the duo at the Annual Global Gift Gala in Miami benefiting Operation Smile.
They hosted the fun event, but both admitted they prefer nights at home. Eva said, “I think both of us… we're homebodies.” Ricky joked, “I'm a couch potato.”
Both are busy with careers and families. Ricky said of Eva, “This is the busiest woman.” Eva insisted, “You're the busiest.” Ricky added, “We love what we do. There's nothing we can do, but when we're not we just go home and we just relax.”
Getting ready for holidays at home, Eva said, “We do tamales every holiday, so we're like an assembly line of aunts and tias and we just do tamales.”
Ricky and his husband Jwan are going to Puerto Rico with their four children, including newborn son Renn. “We sing loud in Puerto Rico… la parranda [out on the town]… so we go from house to house.”
Eva and Ricky are best friends now, but it turns out they met in their teens. Eva said, “I met Ricky when I was 14, yeah, because I stood in line for Menudo autographs and I have a picture… Of course he doesn't remember that.” They met again as adults at the MTV Movie Awards in Miami. Ricky said, “I guess that's where it all began, but I've always had the respect for everything she's done.”
