“90 Day Fiancé” star Ashley Martson, 31, is working on her mental health.
Martson confirmed the reports that she’s going to rehab to overcome her struggles with depression. She told RadarOnline.com, “At this time, I'm focusing on my happiness and my future to better myself. I appreciate the support from TLC and the audience of '90 Day Fiancé.'"
According to the outlet, Ashley will be entering a mental wellness retreat in North Carolina next week. During her “two weeks” away, her mother will take care of her children.
A source told E! News, “She wants it to help her reorganize her life.”
The news comes over a month after she filed for divorce from Jay Smith. At the time, she told Us Weekly, “I’ve been a train wreck all week, but I’m trying to get out. I had my heart broken.”
She revealed that she cited “adultery” as the reason for the split in the papers. She said, “Cheating is not okay… We’re not on good terms. We don’t live together anymore, but he lives in my hotel.”
Ashley first filed for divorce in January, but withdrew the papers less than two weeks later. Around the same time, she was rushed to a hospital after being found unresponsive at her home. In a now-deleted post, Jay said, “I may have hurt you. I may have not been a good husband. Jumping on a plane the second I found out you was in the hospital was something I didn't even think twice to do. We have our differences but as long as I have life I will never let you sit alone and suffer. I love you and nothing will ever change that. Thank you for having me here to support you."
Ashley and Jay, who starred on Season 6 of the show, had been married for eight months before she initially filed. They met at a club in Jamaica while she was on vacation and continued their relationship long distance after she returned to Pennsylvania. They met up six months after their first meeting, and he popped the question a week later.
Along with her relationship struggles, Ashley is battling lupus, which is an autoimmune disease where one’s immune system attacks their own tissues and organs. In January, she revealed, “The ambulance took me to the hospital where it was found that I am in acute kidney failure due to lupus. I will begin dialysis shortly. I will not let this beat me. I know I’m strong enough to battle through this, not just for myself but for my kids. I will be transferred to another hospital this evening that is better equipped.”

I’m sorry if this photo offends anyone but I will not hide that I’m sick. If I can help one person with lupus then posting this is worth it. I was found unresponsive this morning at my home. The Ambulance took me to the hospital where it was found that I am in acute kidney failure due to lupus. I will begin dialysis shortly. I will not let this beat me. I know I’m strong enough to battle through this, not just for myself but for my kids. I will be transferred to another hospital this evening that is better equipped. Please pray for myself and my family as I know it’s going to be a very tough road ahead for all of us. Thank you for your continuous support and prayers #ashley #lupus #kidneyfailure #90dayfiance #tlc
Last year, Ashley was forced to miss Christmas with her kids, due to a lupus flare-up. She wrote on Instagram, “If I could ask Santa for one gift it would be Good health. Being admitted on Christmas Eve and missing Christmas morning with my children is the worst. My strength is beginning to run out but I know God's strength will pull me through.”
Ashley has documented her life struggles on social media, but it doesn’t come without a price. A source told RadarOnline.com that her depression Is also from “dealing with backlash from fans over social media.”
