Reality Stars Stephanie Pratt & Derek Peth Split

Reality Stars Stephanie Pratt & Derek Peth Split

“The Hills” alum Stephanie Pratt, 33, and “Bachelor in Paradise” star Derek Peth, 32, have called it quits after a few months of dating.

On Saturday, Pratt revealed the breakup news at the 2019 iHeartRadio Wango Tango Podcast Suite. She told Us Weekly, “Oh, gosh. We both just know that [with] long distance, it just wasn’t working. My life is way too drama right now and I would never want to subject that to him. But God, he’s just — this is so selfish — but I hope he’s single in a year.”

She emphasized that “right now is not the time.”

In March, Peth revealed that they were set up on a date by fellow “Bachelorette” contestant Wells Adams, who is now dating Sarah Hyland. He shared on the “Pratt Cast” podcast, “She’s a lot smarter than I thought. She’s quippy and quick. Maybe it’s because we’ve both learned to be so open with our lives but there was like, not an empty, dull moment.”

Their first date took place on St. Patrick's Day in Los Angeles, and she was more than an hour late. While Pratt admitted that he wasn’t her “type,” she noted, “We had a really good conversation. He’s really interesting. We were laughing. It was great. He’s a great guy.”

She raved, “He is everything a man in his thirties should be. He has his own job, he’s confident, he has a credit card, he talks about his family, he’s into family, he talks about his friends, he has friends. [He’s] very career-driven [and] super honest about the shows that he was on and his past. Just normal. Didn’t care about social media. He just had it all going on for him. Good teeth, pretty eyes, great outfit.”

A month later, Pratt revealed that they were going to have a “romantic weekend” in Napa Valley.

Stephanie, who will be appearing on the “The Hills” reboot, has been open about her fear of being in a relationship. She explained, “I’m scared that’s going to change how people look at me or, you know, my role on ‘The Hills.’ I like being the single girl on the show. I’m just worried that things will change… I’m always the single girl… It is a role and it’s very deep-set in its ways.”

Peth was previously engaged to “Bachelor in Paradise” co-star Taylor Nolan, but they called off their engagement after nearly a year.

The split came just months after Derek relocated to New York City, while Taylor stayed in Seattle.

In a statement to E! News, the pair said, “It is with much sadness that we have decided to end our engagement. We put everything we could into our relationship and are heartbroken to go forward separately, but we know this is the best decision for the both of us. We will still be present in each other's lives with support, admiration and respect for each other."
