Have the Remains of Missing Mouseketeer Been Found?
Dennis Day, an original Mouseketeer on TV's "The Mickey Mouse Club" from 1955-1957, has been missing since July 2018 — but a grim discovery may mark the end of his loved ones' search.
Authorities have located a body on the grounds of Day's rural home in Phoenix, Oregon, USA Today reports.
Capt. Tim Fox of the Oregon State Police said in a statement, "On Thursday, April 4, 2019, the Medford Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) was contacted by the Phoenix Police Department after human remains were discovered at 510 Pine Street in Phoenix, Oregon."
The remains have not been positively IDed, so the investigation remains ongoing.
Day, 76 when he vanished, was reported missing by his husband Ernest Caswell, who is now in assisted care due to dementia and memory issues. According to Variety, on July 26, 2018, Day's car was found in the possession of two people who told police he had let them borrow it. It was impounded and searched, but yielded no clues.
Day reportedly left his dog with a friend and said he was "headed out for a few days" before he went missing.
