It was a rare date night out for Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa as they attended the Women's Cancer Research Fund's "An Unforgettable Evening" event.
“Extra’s” Renee Bargh caught up with the couple at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation event, who admitted it wasn't easy to leave their 5-month-old daughter Rani Rose at home. Kate said, “It's kind of hard, but it's also good to get out a little bit, you know, 'cause we're starting to kind of... she's out of the infant phase and now she's in baby mode, so it's like, 'Okay, she's good, should we go out?' So we're venturing out, although…”
"I'd rather be with her 24/7," Danny added. "I'd rather be with her right now, I'll be honest.”
Kate was honored with the Courage Award for her support of breast cancer research. Of what makes her so courageous, Danny gushed, “She does things that 99.9 percent of other people cannot do because they do not have the willpower or the strength or the wherewithal to do things, and she does it tenfold. I mean, she's like the busiest woman on the planet, as far as I'm concerned. I could go on and on. Most importantly, she's an amazing person in her heart and soul, so that's... that's really where it counts.”
Hudson shared what the award means to her, saying, “This one really hits home for me because I've actually lost quite a few people recently and friends of ours — Rita’s (Wilson) ...Kate's (Capshaw) — and so to be here is very special, and I do a lot of work with the BCRF so I was... I was actually really tickled and honored when they asked if I wanted to receive this award. So this was particularly meaningful. It'll be nice tonight.”
