Nia Vardalos & Ian Gomez Reach Divorce Settlement
It didn't take long for Nia Vardalos and Ian Gomez to work out a divorce settlement, reports TheBlast.com.
The star couple was married for 25 years, but separated in 2017.
Nia filed for divorce in July citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Now, TheBlast.com says Vardalos and Gomez have already hammered out a settlement package, which was filed August 31.
There is no word yet on the details of the settlement, but Vardalos originally requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughter Ilaria, 11.
Vardalos previously told the site, “We've been respectfully separated for a lengthy period of time. Our relationship became a friendship, so the decision to end the marriage is completely mutual and amicable.”
Nia and Ian's relationship inspired her to write “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” in which her Greek character married a non-Greek man played by John Corbett. Gomez's character was the best man.
