Avicii’s Family Releases Second Statement — Did He Commit Suicide?

Days after Avicii's family released a statement on his sudden passing at 28, they are sharing another one.
His family wrote, “Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.”
The statement continued, “When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music.”
They went on to say, “He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace,” leaving many to speculate that Avicii committed suicide.
The family described the famed DJ as a “sensitive guy,” who was “not made for the business machine he found himself in.”

In his 2017 documentary “Avicii: True Stories,” the Swedish DJ opened up about his anxieties related to performing. He emphasized, “I have said, like, 'I'm going to die.' I have said it so many times. And so, I don't want to hear that I should entertain the thought of doing another gig.”
