Steven Spielberg Talks Pop Culture References in ‘Ready Player One’
“Extra's” Mark Wright sat down with Steven Spielberg to get the scoop on his new sci-fi movie “Ready Player One,” based on the best-selling book.
The movie, starring Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke, is set in a future where people are on a wild hunt inside a virtual world called the Oasis.
Spielberg, Hollywod's highest-grossing director, confessing he still gets jitters. "[I'm] always nervous for every film that debuts."
“Ready Player One” is already getting buzz for its pop culture references… everything from the Iron Giant to the DeLorean from “Back to the Future” to Beetlejuice to Batman,
Steven, however, promises he didn't over do it. “It was a matter of picking and choosing the right references to put in this film as not to distract form the main central storyline.”
