Chris Cornell’s Widow Gives Heart-Wrenching First TV Interview Since His Death
Vicky Cornell sat down with “Good Morning America's” Robin Roberts for an emotional first TV interview about her late husband Chris Cornell.
The Soundgarden frontman committed suicide by hanging in a Detroit hotel room last May. His toxicology report showed he had prescription drugs in his system at the time of his death.
An emotional Vicky told Robin, "My husband was the furthest thing from a rock star junkie. He just wasn't. He was the best husband, the greatest father. I lost my soulmate and the love of my life."
"He wanted to be there for his family, for his children," Vicky added. "He loved his life… he would never have ever left this world."
When Robin asked if Vicky felt addiction was to blame for Chris' death, she responded, "I don't think that he could make any decisions because of the level of impairment."
