Maksim Chmerkovskiy Apologizes for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Absence
On Monday, pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy missed his performance with partner Vanessa Lachey.
At the time, co-host Erin Andrews told the audience, "Maks is dealing with a personal issue, so Alan is stepping in and dancing with Vanessa tonight.”
Maks took to Twitter to address his absence, tweeting on Wednesday, "As you are all aware, I had to leave the show last week to take care of some personal issues. I take full responsibility for my absence. And want to apologize to my partner Vanessa. We are both looking forward to dancing for our fans next week!”
The day before, Vanessa teased on Instagram, "I can't WAIT to get started tomorrow with @maksimc on week 4! We're cookin up something special for you!"
Despite rumors that the two are not always seeing eye-to-eye, a source told People magazine, "Maks and Vanessa are a team and completely support each other 100 percent. They are so friendly backstage and are great to work with. You can tell they are genuinely enjoying themselves and are here to have a good time.”
Vanessa and Maks, who have been near the top of the voting for the first few weeks, are early front-runners for the mirror ball trophy.
