Atomic Bond?: Chris Hemsworth Says It's 'Beyond Time' for a Female 007
Chris Hemsworth is stirred, not shaken, by the idea of a woman stepping into the role of James Bond!
Thor himself was with “Extra's” Renee Bargh at Comic-Con Sunday, where he doubled down on the idea of Charlize Theron playing James Bond. He had previously suggested Theron for the role in a recent W magazine video interview in which he said his former co-star "she scared the hell out of me" with her intelligence and physical ability.
There are plenty of strong feelings on the Internet about whether a woman should play Bond, but Chris is one male action hero who reiterated to "Extra" that he's all for it.
Explaining why he felt the need to nominate Theron to play Bond, Hemsworth told "Extra" of his "Snow White and the Huntsman" co-star, “I love her, she is incredible and has all the wit, humor, charm, passion, skill, everything to pull that off."
Could it be time for a female Bond? Hemsworth insisted it is "beyond time. Especially considering the success of 'Wonder Woman.' 'Wonder Woman,' I think, is my favorite movie this year — what a fantastic film."
Hemsworth also dropped hints about how the next Thor movie, “Thor: Ragnarok" — the third film in the mega-successful series — will be different. "We cut his hair," he said. "The whole world changed, to be honest, the whole look with the character, the visual effects for the worlds he inhabits, the music, the tone is vastly different from not only Thor movies but the Marvel Universe."
"Thor: Ragnarok" hits theaters November 3.
