“The Bachelor” alum Chris Soules is breaking his silence after the deadly car crash in which he was involved.
Earlier this week, Soules was involved in a collision that killed Kenneth Mosher, 66, who was thrown off his tractor trailer. Hours after, Soules was arrested at his home and charged with leaving the scene of the fatal accident. After posting bail, he was released from jail.
Soules told In Touch, "My family and I are overwhelmed with this tragedy, but we are sticking together and we'll get through it. Thank you for reaching out.”
TMZ reports that Soules' phone was seized as part of an investigation into his use of it during the time of the accident. Authorities are looking to see if he was distracted by texting, social media, photos, or a call when he rear-ended Mosher.
The 35-year-old has since deleted his social media accounts.
Authorities are also in search of the driver, who drove Soules away from the scene in a red truck, according to People magazine. Though the person has not identified, he or she could face charges if they knew that Soules was leaving the scene of an alleged crime.
