Jimmy Kimmel to Host Oscars
Jimmy Kimmel will be taking over the hosting duties at the 89th Academy Awards.
This will be the comedian's first time hosting the Oscars, but he isn't a newcomer when it comes to hosting big award shows. He previously hosted the Emmys, ESPYs, and American Music Awards.
This year, he will be tasked with growing the audience. Last year, Chris Rock hosted the show, bringing in 34.3 million viewers — which was an 11-year low.
Immediately following the awards show on ABC, the late-night host will air his special "Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars."
The 89th Academy Awards will air on ABC February 26, 2017.
