Glamour magazine just announced its 2016 Women of the Year honorees. The diverse group will be spotlighted at an awards ceremony taking place November 14.
"Blackish" star Tracee Ellis Ross will open the awards ceremony, which will recognize Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, model and body activist Ashley Graham, and actress and activist Zendaya, among many others.
Singer and style icon Gwen Stefani, will grace the cover of the December issue. She has no doubt had her ups and downs this year, saying, "Sometimes to be woken up again in life, you need to go through some really bad, hard times.I feel like I got woken up this year.”
For the first time, Glamour will honor its first Man of the Year. The recognition will go to Bono.
When asked about the honor, Bono replied, “I'm grateful for this award as a chance to say the battle for gender equality can't be won unless men lead it along with women. We're largely responsible for the problem, so we have to be involved in the solutions.”
Glamour Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive acknowledged, “In this historic year for women, Glamour is proud to honor these wonderful and wildly diverse trailblazers.”
On November 14, you can watch the summit (9 a.m PT) and awards (7 p.m. PT) on Glamour's Twitter and Facebook pages.
