Stylist Ty Hunter Dishes on Beyoncé’s Met Gala Givenchy Dress
One day after the Met Gala, Beyoncé's stylist Ty Hunter sat down with “Extra” to chat about her Givenchy dress.
How did Beyoncé choose the dress for the star-studded event? Hunter shared, "Last night at the Met Gala, it was so exciting to be with Bey. We haven't worked on any projects in awhile. It was a process, it took about 2 to 3 months with about 15 sketches that came from the amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing Givenchy team – Riccardo Tisci. After breaking down the sketches, she picked her favorite couple and then... the key is to bring it to life and he did an amazing job. I love Riccardo, he's like family at this point."
He added about the gorgeous gown, "The dress was latex. Her body, the silhouette was awesome. Riccardo is just awesome, he had an actual artist hand-paint the dress, so if you notice the details, it was all hand-painted flowers, also pearls were put on as well. It was beautiful. Believe it or not, people think this was probably the quickest dress to get in, most comfortable and less stress."
Along with styling for Beyoncé, Hunter is also giving back to the community with My Brother's Keeper. He said, "My Brother's Keeper, first of all, I'm so honored and humble to be a part of it. Mike Muse, the SBA MBK Champion, chose me and a total of six of us to be a part of this small business association. It's President Obama's initiative about entrepreneurship. My role is to basically… I'm just talking about my whole transition from health care industry to styling and living out my dream and becoming an entrepreneur.”
