Amanda Seyfried Speaks Out on the Gender Pay Gap in Hollywood
She's been in big movies and is considered a major star, yet Amanda Seyfried feels she is sometimes taken for granted by producers, and that it has to do partly with gender, partly with the perception that she's too easygoing to say no.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, Amanda confirmed that she was once paid 10% of what a male co-star was paid on a Hollywood blockbuster they did together, "and we were pretty even in status."
She underscored the point that gender plays a role in the Hollywood salary game by saying, "You have to decide if you're willing to walk away from something, especially as a woman."
She is currently starring in "Ted 2."
