'Fashion Police' Shocker! Was Kathy Griffin Sent Packing?
After just seven episodes of E!'s “Fashion Police,” Kathy Griffin suddenly announced she is leaving the show.
While Kathy told fans via Twitter that her style did not fit the creative direction of the show, “Extra” has learned there might be more to it.
Sources told “Extra” that hours before the announcement, E! executives held discussions about terminating Kathy.
The sources also said that there were numerous issues behind the scenes, including a conflict between Kathy and new co-host Brad Goreski. Kathy supposedly felt Goreski was upstaging her with his own jokes and even wanted executives to tell him to stop being funny.
We're told the executives disagreed and told Brad to keep the jokes coming. Sources also said one of the final straws was at the Golden Globes, when Kathy planned to name 11-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis “worst dressed,” which was nixed by E!
Kathy's version of events was much different. Read her entire statement here:
Meanwhile, Kelly Osbourne, who recently left the show, supported Kathy on Twitter. She wrote, "I could not be more proud of you @kathygriffin you have my love and support always!"
No word on who will replace Kathy or Kelly at this point. E! did issue a statement saying that “Fashion Police” would return as scheduled on March 30 with Giuliana Rancic, Brad Goreski and executive producer Melissa Rivers.
