Video! Kate Middleton Christens Ship Before Taking Maternity Leave
Royal baby watchers won’t be seeing a lot of pregnant Kate Middleton in the coming weeks. The Duchess of Cambridge made her last public appearance on Thursday before she goes on maternity leave.
As her last official duty before giving birth to a future king or queen, Middleton christened the new Princess Cruises ship. She told the crowd, “I name this ship Royal Princess. May God bless her and all who sail in her,” before cutting a ribbon and breaking a large bottle of champagne against the hull of the ship.
Although she’s due July 13, Kate was barely showing a hint of a bump in her knee-length animal print dress. She paired the look with a black hat and pumps.
