Father and Son Storm Chasers Die in Oklahoma Tornado
Storm chasers Tim Samaras, 55, and Paul Samaras, 24, a father and son who worked for the Discovery Channel, were killed Friday in an Oklahoma tornado, along with colleague Carl Young.
According to their Twistex Facebookpage, “Tim Samaras, his son Paul Samaras, and Carl Young lost their lives in the El Reno, OK tornado. This is a devastating loss to the meteorological, research, and storm chasing communities.”
The three men lost their lives while chasing an F3 tornado Friday night. A total of 10 people died in the devastating storm, reports the Associated Press.
